To many fans and supporters, one of the best ways to show appreciation for the positive message of Emmanuel Jal's music is by wearing one of his branded T-shirts. An armed boy stands on the front of the shirt, surrounded by bullet holes, beneath the heavy "War Child" line. The initial shock of such a statement is meant to be softened by the art on the back, where Jal's black and white picture speaks volumes. With eyes pointed to the ground, Jal is portrayed in a thoughtful, philosophical mood so typical for his songs. In his face is the expression of pain, kindness, sorrow, and immense humility combined.
The artist's lyrics beneath the photo read "Storms come for a while, and after a while, they'll be gone" on a white T-shirt, and "Sometimes you gotta lose to win, never give up, never give in" on the black, both signed "Emmanuel Jal."
