Mtaa Mentality - Juliani

Purchase this album:  iTunes   amazon

Kenyan hottest rapper's first solo album, released in December 2008 under Gatwitch Records, is Mtaa Mentality. Juliani offers a different perspective on gospel music, as well as on hip hop; challenging street mentality, the mentality of the masses, with his fascinatingly profound lyrics. His sleek flow, humorous approach and the conscious message his rap conveys has been winning the hearts of audiences from different age groups and social backgrounds. Juliani's "sheng", a mix of Swahili, English and the local dialects, is often quoted from the streets of Nairobi, to churches, to facebook pages.

Three singles released so far from the album, "Mtaa Mentality", "Biceps" and "Hela", have all made it to No. 1 in Kenyan music charts, some occupying that place for as long as six weeks.
